::I would not recommend this place not even to an enemy .. took my mom there to do a chest X-ray as she was not feeling well and her doctor wrote urgent on the paper and wanted back the result same time , after paying $5000 to get it done we were told that they did not see anything urgent so we canât get the results same time . We explained to the lady that the doctor did not want to give her anymore medication until he knows what he is dealing with . The lady said that she was going to ask the technician to do it and after two and a half hours it was still not written and the staff in the department all you could see on them is attitude. Will never go back here again because Mandeville have several places with professional staff that treats people with respect .

::I would not recommend this hospital for labour and birth - Im also very on the edge about the person I chose as my OBGYN. When I was in labour (at 8cm) dilated, I had to wait one hour before I could get to do an ultrasound and I had to be standing as well. I kept on asking if I could go in to do it because obviously its an emergency, and they kept telling me to wait. I understand that others have an emergency as well but to wait one hour while in labour? Is crazy. 2. Their facilities and equipment are old. When I did the ultrasound, the reading was wrong and that sent me into panic mode because the results said that my baby was premature in weeks. The machine is also SO SO OLD. I couldnt even recognise my baby. 3. I felt coerced and restricted - when I was in labour, while I was laying on the bed, I asked to move around (walking) so the baby could come quicker, they let me know that once Im on the bed, I cant move. 4. All in all, I ended doing âan emergency c sectionâ because of failure to progress; which I know my body and I disagree. Would 100 NOT recommend.

::WORSE HOSPITAL EVER! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This hospital deserves 0 stars. Imagine paying approximately 80k for medical care and I did not receive the proper care. Waited an entire day to see a doctor to diagnose me and give me some medication to ease my pain and that did not happened. She did not show up. Every time, a nurse would phone her she would say she is close by. I waited and waited. I had to discharge myself because I was not going to allow the hospital to bill me another 80k for an extra night for nothing. After signing the discharge form, I asked the nurse to remove the drip from my hand so I could change and go downstairs to see the break down of the services rendered. She refused to remove the drip from my hand because she stated that I had to pay first. Why would I go to a hospital that I cannot afford? if I couldn't afford to, don't you think I would go to a public hospital instead? She was basically saying the hospital does not trust patients to pay. She even mentioned that patients left before without paying. I told her that is the securities job to ensure that patients do not leave without paying and I insisted on seeing the breakdown of the invoice because since the hospital doesn't trust me then I do not trust the hospital. However, she still refused. I had to remove it myself in order to put on clothes and my hand was bleeding when I removed the drip so I asked her for a cotton to stop the bleeding she just threw the cotton on the bed and left the room. She was very disrespectful and unprofessional. I had to leave the hospital in pain because no doctor showed up. On Monday, I called the office and kindly ask for my medical record and the receptionist was asking me to list the tests done as if the hospital did not keep my medical records safe. It's as if there's no record on file. On May 31, I receive an email which stated that they cannot grant me my medical record because the content is inappropriate so I phone them this morning and asked them what is inappropriate about the letter. They basically told me that I should not write about my experience just request the medical record, he didn't even apologize for how I was treated, they just basically do not care about patients. They just need your money and they do not want any bad reviews. So I'm still here having to deal with this run around for my medical report.

::This review will be written in 2 parts: Part 1: Raving Reviews to Dr. Taylor who successfully performed both surgeries. I have read that he is one of a few doctors in Jamaica who work with diabetic patients to reduce amputations. His service (along with the service from few nurses) have been outstanding. There is one nurse (whose name I did not get) who is remarkable in the way she demonstrates care for the patients. Others were very nonchalant about their job, and this will be mentioned in my Part 2 review. Part 2: I had the opportunity to spend 4 nights at the hospital with my mom. What I have observed is that some of the nurses did not demonstrate any care (or should I say minimal care) for patients. They would enter the room with a âsourâ face and a no care attitude and just wanted to check off the boxes that they did what they had to do. On the 2nd night after my momâs first surgery, one nurse entered the room and instructed my sister (who was staying over that night) to open all the windows in the room. My mom then woke up with a fever and stuffy nose. On night #3, I stayed over with her and while I was asleep, the night shift nurse came in and applied the oxygen mask. When I woke up and asked what the reason was, I was told that she was struggling to breathe and that her oxygen level had dropped. This I believe was done so that they could add an $11,000 to the bill. My mom was just stuffy and at no point was struggling to breathe. She had surgery #2 on a Saturday on the Sunday night (post surgery), I was told that she needed the oxygen mask again. When I asked for the reason, the response I got was âIt was on the doc, and you can ask the doctorâ. No further explanation was given, but another $11,000 was added to the bill. My mom brought her own diapers to the hospital and was told that she could not use them as she had to use what was provided by the hospital. By the end of her stay, disposables came to almost $140,000 Jamaican dollarsâŚHMMM On the day of my momâs discharge from the hospital, not only did the accounting office call the caretaker (who was with my mom) to remind her of payment, but also 2-3 other nurses told her about the remaining balance, although she told them that I was on my way to the hospital to settle the balance. My overall opinion is that the hospital staff is only interested in âyour moneyâ and not in the level of care that the patient should receive. Once they know that someone lives abroad, the price on everything automatically increases. Would I recommend this hospital? I would have to think very hard about it as I have come to find out that this private hospital does not have a good reputation. I would caution anyone who wishes to go there, be aware of the increased cost on EVERYTHING especially if they are made aware that you or any family member lives abroad. I understand that New Management is in place now, so hopefully, service level will improve.
