::This facility is owned and managed by the National Water Commission and is the main source of potable water for most of Kingston Jamaica. Water for the reservoir is supplied by more than one river system. The reservoir is also a natural habitat for herons, egrets, pelicans and other kinds of birds that nest in the nearby limestone forest.
