I loved it. Four days was the perfect stay, and the food was very nice. It was authentic Jamaican cuisine with local products. I will come back.

My husband and I were so excited to come to Goldeneye for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, we got food poisoning from our first dinner at the property. We were extremely violently ill and spent half of our time there sick in bed. Though the staff were helpful and checking in on us, we never received any sort of refund or discount. Some money back would've been appreciated given how expensive it is and that we got sick from food we ate at the hotel.

My husband and I stayed in one of the lagoon cottages (#9) I recommend the lagoon cottages, #9 had a great location. Easy to enjoy the water with kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming right off your private dock and porch. The cottage is what I would call rustic, but refined. The bed, pillows and linens were high quality. The out door shower was wonderful. I'm going to address of few of the negative things that I read in reviews prior to our visit. First, we did not experience any rude service or treatment what so ever. I generally think that people treat you how you treat them. Secondly, service at the restaurants was superior, especially for an island in the Caribbean. The food was very good. I had red snapper everyday, and my husband had a filet several times, all very good. I certainly enjoyed some fruit that I had never had before as well. I asked one of the servers to bring coffee and tea to our cottage each morning at 7:00. She was there everyday...on time. You can't expect more. House keeping also did an excellent job, and turn down service was timely. The grounds were immaculate, each morning several crews were making sure that the grounds were perfect. Thirdly, the pool areas are really beautiful, and the service is excellent. We also had a massage at the spa. I will not say it was the best massage I have ever had, but it was a quiet setting, and better than average. One of the other things that I read was how brutal the drive from the airport was. Well, it was two hours, but our driver, Derrick, was awesome. I took the opportunity to ask him questions, which he was happy to answer. We hired him one day to take us shopping in Ocho Rios and we had dinner with Derrick at a local place called Mrs. T's. It was good as well. Again, generally you reap what you sow. We never felt unsafe either. Lastly, if you are expecting the Ritz Carlton, this is not for you. This is a high end, laid back place. Not fancy or prestigious, but absolutely lovely. A place to truly unplug and relax. It was exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel with large resort grounds, very private. There are multiple pools, a lagoon, and beaches. The beaches are very calm and not true beaches, but they are nonetheless beautiful. The only negative to this hotel is the food. I rented a car which allowed exploring and dining out, which I would recommend. There is a lot of history at this hotel and is probably the best in Jamaica.

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT A QUIET VACATION. We are from NYC and have traveled to many 5 star properties all over the world. DO NOT STAY HERE. First let me start by saying that the property is beautiful. So the pictures are accurate. The staff except for the manager Ricardo are lovely people who go out of their way for guests HOWEVER if you stay in the Bungalos or the lagoon rooms you will be kept awake until 2 or 3 AM when there are extremely loud parties directly across the water that the hotel knows about and does nothing for the guests who are kept awake all night by loud thumping base. We called the front desk at 2am and asked to speak to the manager Ricardo. He explained there's not much he can do since these parties are off hotel grounds. We asked to be moved to the only part of the hotel where you can sleep through the night but he said no. He did tell us that there was going to be a party the next night on hotel grounds but that it would be over by midnight and would not be loud. So we were quite upset when we got back to our room after dinner around 9 pm and the music was so loud that we could not go out on our balcony or do any bathing other than call him to say that this was so disrespectful to the hotel guests, many of whom were complaining the night before about being up until 3 am with the off property party. Again he did nothing. We have picture of the speaker system they allowed at this on property party which was only for about 20 people and it was as many speakers as you would expect to see at a party in Ibiza for hundreds of people. So although the property is beautiful. The food is okay. Donald the head chef will go above and beyond to make you what you like. The rooms are lovely. You will NOT have a restful vacation. And Ricardo does not care at all. So why go here when there are so many other wonderful places to stay. Read other reviews. There are many about the noise. I wish we had listened because it true. You will not sleep at this hotel.
