::The people were very nice and helpful. The rooms just need need better up keep and remodeling. Floors very old, bed spreads old, tubs need reglazing or change all the way, bigger closet spaces, and overhaul to make it better. Great location .

::This hotel is not worth one star. My husband and I spend 15 nights at the Village Hotel in Ocho Rios. The front desk staff needs training in customer service, they also need to learn basic manners example, saying good morning or good day when your guest or anyone walks by in the lobby. They also need to simply smile to greet your guests. On the day of check in, we were told breakfast is included and it's toast and eggs that is only provided. My husband and I were not interested in egg and toast so every morning we would go out to a nearby restaurant. Two days before checking out, we found out that the kitchen at the hotel did provide Jamaican food for breakfast, now that was even more disappointing, because that's what we came to Jamaica for, the local foods. The staff never greets us when we pass through the lobby. They always look upset as if we did something wrong to them. We will never stay at this hotel again and won't recommend it either. The room we stayed in is not worth the price, it's out dated, the shower doesn't work and for 2 weeks I had to be using a jug to pour water on me to get a shower. Thus was brought to management's attention but nothing was done about it. The front desk staff needs to realise that the guest are the ones bringing money in the business so that they can get a salary. THEY NEED TO TAKE PRIDE IN THEIR JOB AND TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT, ESPECIALLY GUEST STAYING AT THE HOTEL. Two friends stopped by for a visit at the hotel and when they went to the front desk, they gave our names and the receptionist, without asking or even calling to inform us there was someone to see us, she just gave them our room number. My point is, you cannot just give strangers your guest room number without informing them first. Management needs to look closely into this because your staff is driving your guests away. The parking lot is always full with vehicles and we can't get a parking spot. Other business along that same block uses the hotel parking, which makes it difficult for paying customers to even park. My husband needed change so he went to the front desk and he left a tip with the young lady just to say thank you for changing the money for us. She never said thank you or smiled or anything. We felt like we were bothering her. It was a horrible vacation. .. the less time we spend in the hotel the better. We go out all day and only come in to sleep....

::It was ok. A modern upgrade of the bedrooms and bathrooms would make it better. Love the roof top pool, water was warm! Breakfast provide but system inefficient. The cook takes the order by table and then goes and prepare it.

::I don't know how to give a half star so I gave one. Like someone else said, I don't know if I went at a bad time but my experience was very very poor. Upon entry, I realized there was no true form of security (gate wide open, and no one at the security booth) and a sign that says "WARNING: Park at your own risk." My take is, you have customers coming who could possibly be driving their own vehicles or a rented one.... you're telling me that you hold no liability for someone walking in through your open unsecured gate and stealing it? That's rubbish! Next, it's summer and the time is hot, you are expecting persons to come in and you don't have cold water nor ice? I was told I had to wait 2 hours before I could get ice which I still didn't get after 2 hours. Again, rubbish! The rooms I was going to stay in was scorching hot. The air conditioner wasn't turned on until I literally walked in the room. The place was clean, I'll give them that. The towels were just tossed down on the toilet top. The pool was ok... it's water, I always have fun with water. Talking about water; this morning while getting ready to leave. 2 minutes in my shower water went .... for 30 minutes!!!! I was covered with soap, can't go anywhere, can't do anything but wait! A trickle came for half a second then that was it. Some of my friends went to investigate what was happening because I was too soapy and pissed to do it myself, the word was that they sent for a plumber. That was another 35 minutes. So I was there half done with my bath for a whole hour waiting on these tacky people. This was the thing that drove the nail in the wall for me. For a hotel in a place like Ocho Rios, I think they can do far better and for that I was displeased. Oh, and only 1 port of the 3 sockets in my room worked. 1, literally 1... and WiFi access is ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE LOBBY. I have more bad than good experience with this hotel, hope it improves though.

::The hotel was rooms were very clean. Patricia is very honest and thorough. She does her job very well. I do wish Management would look in to getting the staff Uniforms. Oh the chef waitress are attentive, wishing for more variety with the breakfast. Nikita is a great host , i wish more hotels had more of you. Quiet accomodative. She is truly amazing always smiling and ensuring that all is well. My family and i enjoyed the trip and the stay was worth it. However the stay was great and i would stay there again all because of the staff and how nice they are. however i realized that the owner came in , food for thought, he should have said hi to his guest as building strong customer relationship isthe key for this business success.
